Point Petrichor at your music folders and it builds a library you can browse by Artists, Album Artists, Composers, Genres, Decades, or Years. Pick a type, then an item, and its tracks line up grouped by album, so you can play everything an artist has or just one album of it. Search stays fast across thousands of tracks, and it never modifies your files on disk, so your collection stays exactly as you have it.
Discover borrows the best parts of streaming apps and points them at music you already own. It opens on carousels of Featured, Recently Played, and Most Loved & Played, drawn from the albums, artists, genres, years, and decades in your library, with a Fresh Music list below that turns up tracks you have never played.
MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF, Ogg Vorbis, Opus, DSD, APE, WavPack, WMA, Musepack, TAK, and plenty more, 46 file extensions in all. Petrichor reads the finer details of every track too, so you can see what's lossless along with its bit depth, sample rate, and codec, read from the file itself rather than guessed from its extension.
Browse thousands of popular stations, or add your own by URL, and group the ones you keep coming back to into collections. Stations sit in the sidebar next to the rest of your library, and while one plays you see the track that is on along with the stream's format and bitrate. If radio is not your thing, it can be hidden entirely.
Dial in your sound with a multi-band equalizer, a handful of ready-made presets, stereo widening, and a preamp for fine-tuning levels. Playback stays gapless, with spatial audio on supported earphones. It's all powered by CrescendoKit, an in-house audio engine currently in beta, with much more on the way.
